The Cupcake Cup: Heating Up!

So if you aren't getting into the whole March Madness deal, perhaps this will be more up your alley: The Cupcake Cup. This is some bracketology that I can get in to. The Washingtonian is determining the best cupcake in the DC area through a tournament style bracket. If I would have known earlier, I would have started a pool!
I'm reporting a little late in the game, so things have alread heated up. The tourney is down to the final four! Excuse me, I meant to say the "frosted four" (squeee!). Gerogetown Cupcake, Curbside Cupcakes, Bakeshop, and Something Sweet. Being a newcomer and facing off against Baked and Wired, I think that Curbside Cupcakes represents a bit of an upset.

The winners of each round are viewer selected. The Washingtonian allows readers to vote for one of the two teams facing off, and the one who wins are allowed to proceed to the next round. I am just curious about how the rankings were made. We can all assume that Georgetown Cupcake was a 1 seed, but how about Hello Cupcake? I call for some transparency ; )

Anyways, I guess the rankings aren't all that important because only the winner takes the cake! Who will win the big cupcake dance? You can help decide! Vote here for your favorite.

  1. That's hilarious! I don't feel qualified to vote, since I've never tasted them, and, as I think I've mentioned, we don't even have cupcakes here!
